Baby Pygmy Hippo In Search Of A Name!

Published 17 Apr, 2018

Montgomery Zoo launches competition to name the latest arrival to the pygmy hippo family

A baby pygmy hippo, born on 31 January 2017 at Montgomery Zoo in Alabama, is in need of a name and his zookeepers have launched a competition to find the best fit.

According to WSFA 12 News, there are now three names in the running following public submission of suggestions on the zoo's facebook page. We are yet to learn the full scoop but hear that 'Levi' and 'Blue' are potentially set for the win, while the zoo is now inviting the public to join in on the voting process.

The three names will be represented by three fictional political parties, which will each run mock campaign ads on social media to ramp up popularity for their choices. Voting will run from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday 8 May on the zoo's website, facebook page and in person at the gift shop on site.

Keep your eye out for further information on the zoo's official website: www.montgomeryzoo.com/
