New Arrival To The Pygmy Hippo Species

A pygmy hippo has been born in Indonesia
This month we learned that a baby pygmy hippopotamus has been born at an Animal Conservation Institute, Taman Safari Indonesia, in Bogor. Due to the limited population of this remarkable species, its arrival marks a very special occasion for the Pygmy Hippo Foundation.
The new arrival is the progeny of male hippopotamus Ujani and female Vivi, however, we do not yet know the name of the calf. What we do know though, is that he or she is already well-accustomed to diving under water and possesses 'very charming' behavioural patterns, according to the safari's zookeepers.
The PHF looks forward to learning more of the animal later in the year.
